It is mainly used for cutting internal and external spur gears, different kinds of non-circular gears and plate cams. When a helical guide and a shaping cutter with helical teeth are equipped, helical gears can be produced while a special cutter is adopted, various kinds of serration couplings and involutes spline can be machined.
